Tally Thursdays: Fermentation Lounge

The next time you are hankering for some good beer or wine in an atmosphere devoid of the usual college folk annoyingness then Fermentation Lounge is the place for you. Full of great craft beer and good wine in a little location in the All Saints neighborhood, the Lounge is a favorite hangout of C and myself especially since the prices are really reasonable. Now I have to admit that C is a big beer enthusiast...I mean BIG and I don't care for most beer but they have even managed to convert the naysayer with the best beer I have ever tasted.

They frequently change the offerings on tap and periodically showcase local breweries like Swamp Head Brewery from Gainesville. If you are looking for a great chill atmosphere with great service and great beer and wine then you should check them out. Tally needs more establishments like this one!!!

Work time Wednesdays: Education

[glass_ceiling.gif]
While some of you may have graduated with your bachelors degree before you entered the professional world, the rest of us didn't for different reasons. In my case I had to work to support myself so full-time school wasn't an option and part-time school got in the way of my partying (*wink) so I have taken classes here and there for several years. I am currently finishing my B.S. in Business Administration through the Online Business Program at the University of Florida.

While taking school online definitely makes me hone my skills in procrastination and then cramming I have found that, this program in particular, is an awesome fit for my life while providing me an awesome UF education. I watch lectures through video posted after each class online and take tests at a proctored site.

While it is more expensive than traditional classes it is well worth it to get a degree. As I've learned you can only go so far on experience alone. Eventually you will hit a glass ceiling and won't be able to advance further.

Do you know of any other good online degree programs?

Twosome Tuesday: Introductions

I am not a relationship expert, just thought I should throw that out there. However I am currently in an almost three year long relationship with my boyfriend, let's call him C, who I live with in a small townhouse with two chihuahuas. This is my first relationship of the really serious variety and I must say everyday is a new adventure.

Lately we've been talking a lot about the "E" word, and yes I mean engaged. Actually I should rephrase that, I've been talking a lot about the "E" word and he has been doing a lot of eye rolling and trying hard not to say anything that might remotely make me bring it up. The funny thing is I know that he loves me, no question in my mind so why do guys so strongly oppose marriage?

I know that in his case he has never really seen one work out successfully but I think it's more than that. I think there is a natural aversion of most (not all but most) men to the idea of marriage. I've tried talking about it less and I've tried talking about it more. Neither really seems to help. Every once in a while he will start talking about it without prompting and it seems like he's coming around and then the next day, back to square one.

In your experience what was your guys problem with holy matrimony?

Getting started...

Hi world, I'm Kasey....I'm 25 and live in Tallahassee, FL. I recently decided to share a portion of what goes through my head everyday. When I asked for advice on what I should write about my cousin asked me, "Well what are you passionate about?" Sadly that was a hard question to answer but eventually I decided that I am passionate about many different things, so I will be writing about a host of different issues that face young twenty somethings as they attempt to bridge the gap between being young and being a grown-up.

So I will be writing throughout the week with a different focus each day.

Manic Mondays: Focusing on different things "grown-ups" have to do
Twosome Tuesdays: Focusing on relationships
Work time Wednesdays: Focusing on succeeding at work
Tallahassee Thursdays: Focusing on fun things to do in Tallahassee
Fun Fridays: Lack of focus or free day

Hopefully you will join me throughout this journey :)
